The official data on poverty and educational poverty. Upgrade 2019
Abstract
Keeping official statistics on poverty and those on educational poverty under control has become an imperative of modern times. In fact, we cannot overlook the fact that despite a large part of the population living in dignified conditions, the access to the essential services and to training opportunities is not always guaranteed to everyone. The monitoring of data on this issue is therefore not only ethically desirable, but it is necessary to understand what is the effect of the intervention policies implemented at national level or what is the involvement of the scope of private initiatives at local level which often, albeit in limited contexts, manage to meet the needs of the population in difficulty. However, educational poverty is also more complex and more difficult to measure since it does not always coincide with economic poverty. For this reason, ad hoc indicators have been studied for the measurement, monitoring and international comparison of situations of educational poverty. The present work aims at an overview of the available data on poverty and of the main controls for the measure of educational poverty updated to the latest official information at national and international level.Downloads
